Privacy and cookies

This page explains what personal data we collect when you visit the site or book, why we use it and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). Last updated: 28 October 2026.

1. Who processes your data

2. What data we collect

Bookings on the site: full name, email, phone, country, dates of stay, number of guests, expected arrival time, chosen payment method and any notes.
Dietary needs: if you tell us about intolerances or allergies in the notes, we use them only to prepare breakfast. This is health data: share it only if you wish; we process it with your explicit consent.
On arrival: the identity document details of every guest, as required by Italian law.
Contacts: the data you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
Browsing: the server records technical data (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and operation. We do not use analytics, advertising or profiling tools.

3. Why we use it and on what legal basis

To manage your booking, stay, payment and communications with you: performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR).
Legal obligations: reporting guests to the police (Art. 109 TULPS, Alloggiati Web), the City of Piacenza tourist tax, ISTAT statistics, tax and accounting obligations (Art. 6.1.c GDPR).
Website security and abuse prevention: legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).
Intolerances and allergies you tell us about: explicit consent (Art. 9.2.a GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

Without the data needed for the booking and the data required by law we cannot host you. We do not send newsletters or use your data for marketing.

4. Who we share it with

The Piacenza police headquarters (Questura), the City of Piacenza and ISTAT, only for legal obligations.
Our accountant, for tax obligations.
Hostinger International Ltd, which hosts the website and email on servers in the European Union (Netherlands), as data processor.
Your bank or Revolut, when you make the payment.
Stripe Payments Europe Ltd (Ireland), if you pay online: it receives the data needed for the payment and handles it under its own privacy policy.
Booking.com receives only the booked dates, to avoid double bookings: never names or contact details.

Your data is not sold. We do not transfer it outside the European Economic Area; Stripe may do so for online payments, with the safeguards required by the GDPR.

5. How long we keep it

Booking data and tax documents: 10 years, as required by tax law.
Identity document details: only for reporting to the police and for the period required by law.
Intolerances and notes: deleted within 30 days of departure.
Messages without a booking: up to 24 months.
Technical browsing data: for the period set by the hosting provider for server logs.

6. Your rights

At any time you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format, object to processing based on legitimate interest and withdraw any consent given (Arts. 15-22 GDPR). Write to info@lavillettapiacenza.it: we reply within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it) or the authority in your country.

The site uses only technical cookies needed for it to work, which do not require your consent:

pll_language: remembers your chosen language, lasts 1 year.
wordpress_* and wp-settings-*: only for people who log in to manage the site.

We do not use analytics, advertising, profiling or third-party cookies. Fonts are hosted on our own server. The cookie notice remembers your choice in your browser’s storage, without a cookie. Links to Google Maps, WhatsApp and Booking.com open external services with their own privacy rules.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, the date at the top is updated.
